Trofeo SETTE COLLI 2017
56th international tournament «Trofeo Sette Colli» was held in Rome, Italy, on 23, 24 and 25 June at the historical stadium «Foro Italico", where took place the XVII Summer Olympics in1960.
It is worth to note the incredible number of world swimming superstars that have raced in Italy:
Chad Le Clos,Gregorio Paltrinieri, Gabriele Detti, Federica Pellegrini, Zsuzsanna Jakabos, Adam Peaty, Ranomi KROMOWIDJOJO, Tae-Hwan Park, Marco Koch, Mack Horton, James Magnussen and many others.

Ben Proud and Georgia Davies were represented the national team of Great Britain at the this meeting.
Chad Le Clos won the champion title in the distance 100m fly with a meet record- 51.65! In the 200m fly event, Chad showed an amazing result- 1: 54.87.
Mary-Sophie Harvey, a 17-year-old swimmer, in the 400m freestyle race has finished with asecond time, which was incredibly strong- 4: 09.78. In the 400m IM Mary-Sophie won a silver medal with a difference in only 20sec (4: 36.48) to the winner (Hannah Miley from GBR).
Sergey Shevtsov secured a ticket to the World Long Course Championship in Budapest, he has fulfilled the normative A in the distance 50m freestyle - 22.27.
In the final A in the distance 50m freestyle Ben Proud won a silver with a result 21.95 and in the 50m fly event Ben finished with a third time - 23.32.
After the morning session of the second competitions daya sports delegation of 260 famous athletes, coaches, team leaders and officials led by the President of the Italian Swimming Federation Mr. Paolo Barelli,were welcomed to a meeting with the Pope of RomeFrancis in Vatican where he blessed everyone with inspirational speech:
“Water is life and without water life would not exist” -withthis words His Holiness the Pope who started a privet hearing in Sala Clementina of Palazzo Apostolico – The Vatican -“Through the contact with the water you learn to repulse everything that pollutes, both in sport and in life” Pope Francis continued, defining sport as “a celebration, not without contents, since it teaches values, which are always more necessary in a civil society like ours…»
